Sights & Attractions

There is so much to see and do in Walkerton! Whatever the season, we have unique shopping opportunities, arts and cultural events, abundant green space to explore, and of course, the magnificent Saugeen River!

Brockton is making a name for itself as one of the greatest fishing destinations in the world. Home to both the Saugeen and Teeswater Rivers, Walkerton offers first-class fly fishing, and caters to outdoor enthusiasts who enjoy canoeing, kayaking, swimming, hiking, cycling, camping, hunting, skiing, snowmobiling and ATVing.

Visitors will fall in love with the countless scenic spots that can be accessed along the two rivers and the vast system of multi-use trails in the area. Anglers on the Saugeen will find its feeder streams and spring-fed lakes result in an abundance of brown trout, bass and pike.

In addition to fishing, there are numerous other recreational opportunities available in the area. Brockton is thriving with recreational opportunities for families, couples and individuals of all ages. With community centres, arenas, sporting fields, tennis courts, ball diamonds, soccer pitches, an outdoor pool and more, recreational enthusiasts will find much here to their liking. New soccer pitches and a wheelchair accessible splash pad are coming in 2016!
